Vanderpump Rules’ Peter Madrigal is giving a detailed update on every facet of his life — starting with his career.
As fans are surely aware, Peter has worked at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR for nearly 15 years. He started out as a busboy, worked his way up to a server/bartender position, and now he’s in a managerial role. Read on for all the details Peter gave the Jamie All Over podcast about his job, his dating life, Vanderpump Rules drama, and more.
Peter’s Career
Though he’s been at the management level at SUR for a few years now, Peter says he’s more committed to his job than ever. “I’m always working,” he told the podcast in December. “I’m always at SUR.”
That doesn’t mean he keeps up with all the drama that goes down there and on Vanderpump Rules, though. In fact, “I kind of avoid everything,” Peter explained. “The thing is, I’m not going to be able to be managing SUR and [be] involved in drama. That’s not good, you know what I mean? There always has to be someone with a level head through all the chaos involved.”
Peter revealed he also has a few side hustles, so even when he’s not working at SUR, he’s most likely still working. “I started my own production company that I’m really focused on right now,” he said. “[I’m] getting projects done. I have a bunch of projects that I’m working on at the moment. So that’s one of my main focuses for next year.”
Peter’s Dating Life
Asked if he’s active on dating apps or anything of that nature, Peter explained that he’s actually “been seeing someone since October.”
Unfortunately, “There’s a rough patch going on,” he added. “So we’ll see what happens in the future, because I like her, I really like her, but I have different goals right now and she has different goals.”
Peter and Raquel Leviss
Peter didn’t divulge any additional details about the mystery woman, but he did address his experience with Raquel Leviss (who, as VPR fans may recall, revealed in April that she went on a date with Peter after her split from James Kennedy).
“We went out a couple of times,” Peter said. “It was fun.”

Asked how James felt about him and Raquel, Peter simply said to stay tuned.
Peter’s Take on Raquel and Tom Schwartz
Of course, James has publicly weighed in. He poked fun at the pairing during BravoCon 2022, along with Raquel and Tom Schwartz, who were rumored to have made out at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ August wedding in Mexico. Raquel and Tom have increased the speculation with their own comments on the matter, but despite also attending Scheana’s wedding, Peter didn’t have much to say about anything that may or may not have gone down in Mexico. As he put it, “I have no idea about it, because I was in bed.”
Peter’s Reflections on Vanderpump Rules
Looking back at his years-long stint on the show, Peter said, “I need to brush up on my Vanderpump Rules. I think there’s like full seasons that I have not seen.”
He continued, “It’s funny, because I’ll be walking back and forth — you know, managing the restaurant now — and I’ll look up and I’ll see me on the screen randomly. And I’m like, ‘Wait, what was I talking about there? Like, what what was happening?’”
As for what he does remember, Peter said his 30th birthday trip to Cabo will always be a standout.
Peter’s Thoughts on Another Bravo Show
Asked if he’d ever consider appearing on any other Bravo series — à la Paige DeSorbo on Southern Charm or Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval on Winter House — Peter said he’d “love” to go on the latter. However, he admitted he would be “like a deer in the headlights.”
