Dating rumors surrounding South Korean stars Son Heung Min and Kim Go Eun sparked so much the actress’ agency had to step in to release a clarification.
During FIFA World Cup 2022, South Korea’s soccer stars gained fans from around the world and that list included Korean celebrities.
However, all football fan Kim Go Eun did was to start following Son Heung Min’s private Instagram and, before anyone knew it, dating rumors had run wild.
Truth behind Son Heung Min and Kim Go Eun dating rumors
Son Heung Min and Kim Go Eun’s baseless dating rumors began when some netizens claimed the Little Women actress was following Sonny’s private Instagram.
It’s no news that Kim Go Eun does love football. She updated her Instagram stories in November 2022 to reveal she was watching her own drama and South Korea’s World Cup match at the same time.
But her love of football and her love life aren’t interlinked as the actress’s agency firmly responded by debunking the dating rumors, stating: “The two have never met. [Kim Go Eun] is always a supporter as a [Korean] citizen and especially during the World Cup season.”
Further proving the rumor to be false, actress Jang Hui Ryoung shared a screenshot of the discussed private account “goyard0070” and claimed it belongs to her. She urged: “This is my private account. Please stop trying to hack it.”
Why Son Heung Min won’t marry until he retires from football
Son Heung Min once revealed why he doesn’t plan to marry until he retires from playing.
He told the Guardian in March 2019: “When you marry, the number one will be family, wife and kids, then football. I want to make sure that, while I play at the top level, football can be number one. You don’t know how long you can play at the top level. When you retire, or when you are 33 or 34, you can still have a long life with your family.”
Sonny, one of the best Asian footballers of all time, listens to his father’s advice and his dad also asked his son not to get married until his playing career was over.
He revealed: “It takes 14 to 17 years to make a professional footballer. So youth is very important for the players.”
Kim Go Eun’s dating life
Kim Go Eun is currently rocking the K-drama world with multiple hits such as Little Women and Yumi’s Cells. While the actress’ current relationship status is a secret, the 31-year-old star once dated renowned actor Shin Ha Kyun.
The K-drama couple confirmed their dating status in August 2016, telling Soompi they had been seeing each other for two months. Unfortunately, the relationship did not last long as, in 2017, the actress’ agency shared the pair had called it quits.
The agency noted: “The pair broke up around late February. They drifted apart due to their busy schedules. They will remain colleagues.”
