The new villa that will be featured in Love Island UK season 9 has been revealed. The stunning manor is located on a sprawling South African estate.
The Love Island UK Winter 2023 South African villa has reportedly been announced. Premiering in January 2020, the winter spin-off of the popular UK dating show featured host Laura Whitmore. Paige Turley and Finn Tapp won the debut season and are still going strong as a couple. After premiering, the winter version of Love Island UK was put on hold for three years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Restrictions on travel and filming rendered Love Island too difficult to produce. The announcement of the 2023 return was met with excitement among fans and previous contestants.
Sources for the Daily Mail said Love Island UK season 9’s South African Villa is the “best villa” in the history of the Love Island franchise. It is reportedly located in the Franschhoek wine valley in what is known as South Africa’s millionaire row. The impressive manor will be the largest one to date, and the newest Love Island UK cast members are sure to have plenty of Instagram-worthy photo opportunities. Featuring a massive contemporary-style pool surrounded by lush palm trees, the villa will provide a stunning backdrop for filming. Rooms have striking mountain views of the South African countryside and typically cost around $517 per night.
Love Island UK Will Air Two Seasons In 2023
Lifted Entertainment Executive Producer Mike Spencer is excited about Love Island UK season 9, saying, “After eight brilliant series, we are excited to be serving up two helpings of love in 2023 by kicking off in January at a stunning new villa in South Africa.” With the Love Island UK cast members likely being flown to the filming location this month, work on the estate is already underway. The new villa is eco-friendly, generating all of its own electricity and operating 100% off the grid. Security is also a top concern for producers after a 2021 incident in which an intruder entered the Love Island UK season 7 Mallorca villa.
Love Island will be going through a big transition, with previous host Laura stepping down from the dating show. The Irish TV personality announced her departure in August, citing the difficulty of traveling to and from the villa. Taking to Instagram, Laura explained her reasoning for leaving Love Island and promised fans that they will be in good hands. Laura hosted three seasons of Love Island, after joining the franchise in 2020.
Love Island UK season 9 will feature new host Maya Jama. With extensive presenting experience on both TV and radio, Maya is a great addition to the franchise. Her background includes presenting on shows like MTV News, Walk The Line, and The Circle. Maya is excited about joining Love Island UK and is a self-proclaimed gigantic fan of the reality dating series. Love Island UK Season 9 is expected to premiere in January 2023.
