LOVE Island has been plunged into chaos as a string of couples have split up.
Just two of the dating show’s original pairings are still together after a fortnight.
ITV bosses are now desperately rethinking plans for the villa in a bid to fan the flames of passion.
A source said: “Love Island knew putting in a load of bombshells would stir up drama but at the moment it’s causing chaos — everyone is splitting up.
“For a show all about falling in love, the only thing we’re seeing right now is a lot of people falling out and splitting up.”
Only Will Young and Jessie Wynter, and Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga are in romantic couplings.
Tanyel Revan and Kai Fagan were going steady until his head got turned by Samie Elishi.
Tom Clare and Zara Lackenby-Brown are long over after he made moves on Olivia Hawkins and Ellie Spence.
The source said: “Plans that were in place for the islanders are being looked at as some set-ups might not work if there are so few actual romantic couples.
“An eviction to kick out one contestant took place on Monday to try to redress the balance. Fans will be able to watch it play out this week.”
In tonight’s show, hosted by Maya Jama, Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins were struggling after he said he wanted to get to know Samie.
She was also seen coming between Kai and Tanyel.
