A MAN who won £11million on the lottery and was dubbed ‘the UK’s most eligible bachelor’ has revealed he refuses to risk his sanity by dating.
Karl Crompton won big on the National Lottery in 1996 as a mere 23-year-old, seeing him named the prestigious title.
And in the months after the win Karl lived up to it – he had the masses swooning over both his riches and his looks.
But, he was quickly whisked off the market by his high school crush Nicole Roach.
The pair settled down, married, and had two children.
However, the lovers were rumoured to have split in 2020, after Nicole was seen without her wedding ring.

Their pals also confirmed the divorce.
Now, Karl has taken to Twitter and basically confirmed he’s single.
He is also insinuating he has no plans to change his relationship status as it may “risk his sanity”.
In the post the bachelor shared a TikTok video which says: “Can we talk about the man that got out of a toxic relationship years ago?
“He probably decided to remain single rather than risk his sanity again.
“Now it’s been so long that he no longer actively seeks a relationship anymore, and it’s not that he has sworn them off, it’s just that he has no reason to chase something when he’s already found his peace.”
Karl very simply captioned the post “spot on”.
When the rumours of Karl and Nicole’s split surfaced in 2020, the lucky man was said to have been hit with the “lottery curse”.
The Sun outlined big-winning couples that had parted ways after landing their fortunes, and Karl was the latest victim.
It was rumoured that Nicole, and the mother of his children, could take half of his fortune – which was said to be around £22m after he doubled his fortune with savvy investments.
Then, in June last year, Karl was snapped back at work – behind a wheelbarrow.
The businessman was pictured for the first time in 14 years getting his hands dirty on a property renovation in Blackpool.
