After getting canceled just a few weeks before its July premiere by TBS, the reality dating show The Big D, hosted by JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers from The Bachelorette season 12, has been revived by USA Network. JoJo first appeared on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor in 2016, during which she was the runner-up. A fan favorite, she became The Bachelorette later that year, during which she fell in love with Jordan, and they got engaged. They were married on May 14, 2022. As hosts of The Big D, JoJo and Jordan served as guides to help the contestants through their journeys on the show. On the show, six recently divorced couples moved to a tropical resort in Costa Rica to try to find love with other recently single people. The twist was that they had to live with their exes while they pursued the other contestants. In each episode, one person who was not considered relationship material was eliminated.

Although JoJo and Jordan’s show The Big D was canceled by TBS before its premiere, Deadline now reports that it has found a new home on USA Network. USA Network is picking up the ten-part series, and a deal is on the verge of closing. The Big D was one of the higher profile shows to be canceled at the network, especially since JoJo and Jordan are so loved by Bachelor Nation. The show came from Lighthearted Entertainment, which is the company that also produced Are You The One? and Dating Naked. The Big D had finished production, and the network was already running promos to advertise its July 7 premiere. Fans were excited to see JoJo and Jordan in the commercials. However, Deadline reported that the show was pulled in June because the company preferred “to essentially take a tax write-off rather than air it as part of broader cost-cutting measures across the David Zaslav-run company.”

JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers’ Show The Big D Generates Buzz

Deadline added that it is understood that The Big D producers “were handed the rights back to the show so they could shop it elsewhere and have worked out a deal where Warner Bros. Discovery can share in the ancillary rights, particularly around international formats. It’s understood that a number of global broadcasters were eyeing local remakes of the show.” There are many reality dating shows on television, but the idea of bringing divorced couples onto a show is interesting and different. It is certainly something that Bachelor Nation viewers have not seen before, so it is no wonder that the show generated enough buzz that others were interested in it.

The Big D will be an intriguing show because the divorced couples have a history together. This will add another layer of emotion to things, similar to what viewers have seen on Bachelor in Paradise when exes have shown up on the beach. The longer the network waits to air the show, the more time will have passed since filming, so perhaps a reunion episode will be necessary to update fans on the contestants’ current relationship statuses.

JoJo and Jordan are the perfect couple to advise reality dating show contestants. They found their love through The Bachelorette, and they were able to last long after the show wrapped filming. They faced obstacles, including having to postpone their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are now happily married. Hopefully, they helped at least one couple to find their happily ever after as well.
